Book Review: Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley

Where Things Come BackWhere Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the heartwrenching story of a boy who is trying to find his way through a summer when his brother has dissappeared. Cullen adores his brother Gabriel, so when Gabriel goes missing, he doesn't really know how to cope. Cullen narrates his story, and the story of his family and friends, as he navigates through emotional minefields. Interspersed through the book are chapters that, for much of the book, seem to have nothing to do with Cullen's tale. In the end these seperate stories are brought together, as one might expect, though it took longer to get there than I would have anticipated. If you enjoy stories that unfold slowly, developing a character realisticly, with a little mystery then this might be the book for you.
